As a final stamp of completion, I created a maker's name badge to adhere to the case. As a 3D artist by trade and hobby, I used those skills to design and 3D model a digital badge. Using the web service Shapeways.com, I had the badge 3D printed in a gold plated alloy.
When it arrived, I sanded down the top surface of the letters to give them a silver shine, and used some paint to muddy the crevices up a bit.
Don't be fooled though; that's no J, it's a T!
Here's the 3D model and a few other versions I played around with. The design was inspired by vintage bicycle badges.
